Position: Temporary PR & Marketing Assistant

Where: Seattle

What: The PR & Marketing Assistant provides support to both the PR and marketing functions at Big Fish. The job requires an interest in PR, marketing, and social media. Candidates will support a wide array of PR and marketing activities, including corporate announcements and events, monthly product launches, social media coordination, creation and maintenance of communication reports and department SharePoint sites, and maintenance of overall PR and marketing support systems. Candidates should enjoy research, writing, and updating data, as well as people management and external vendor communications.

PR Responsibilities:

  • Create & Maintain PR contact databases — add and delete editors as appropriate
  • Respond to unsolicited press inquiries
  • PC Media relationship management
  • Create weekly coverage reports for executive staff
  • Maintain and update press room on www.bigfishgames.com
  • Create product fact sheets for product launches
  • Coordinate media interview logistics with executives
  • Track media placements when announcements are distributed and create announcement coverage reports to send to exec staff
  • Maintain speaking opportunity calendar

Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Monthly expense management for Marketing team
  • Travel Planning and business development meeting organization
  • Marketing team meeting organization and planning for ongoing education (MLR) events
  • Assist in managing moderation on social media portals
  • Help create and manage new blog content
  • Create and maintain competitive marketing database (e.g., using Onavo as data source)
  • Help make & maintain mobile campaign tracking links as needed for new creative and new vendors
  • Project-based administrative support to marketing department as needed
  • Following up on potential new marketing vendor/partner leads
  • Support delivery of marketing assets to new partner marketing programs and campaigns

Skills, experience and educational requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Interest in public relations, social media, and marketing promotions
  • Excellent writing, research, and communications skills
  • Enjoy working with people
  • Enjoy data management and creating reports
  • Attention to detail
  • Good work ethic and proactive
