What: Affirma Consulting, ranked one of the “Best Companies to Work For” and “Fastest Growing Companies” in Washington for the past four years is seeking a Data Architect for a client of ours who specializes in creating software solutions within the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities:
They are working on a brand new SAAS product and looking for an expert-level Mongo Engineer who wants to architect and build out a brand new replicaSet (moving off their existing hosting solution), then shard and scale that database out across the United States and internationally. As a key member of their development team you would drive the future of their data strategy across multiple products and use your expertise to influence better designs.
We’re looking for someone who has been living and breathing Mongo from the beginning; you know all the ‘undocumented features’ and what happens to the oplog when latency is high. You know how to recover from losing multiple nodes. You know what MMS is and how to configure it. You know how to make Mongo talk to other data stores.
This team is motivated and highly collaborative. We work together on the bleeding edge of the architectural challenges for our product. We do things first and set the standards for those who adopt our platform. We are scrum experts and run sprints with efficiency and purpose. Our code and solutions are highly visible and impact to our customers and the executive team here.
Requirements:
• 3+ years’ experience running MongoDB in a production environment
• Have you contributed to the Mongo code base? Awesome!
• Experience building out Mongo Clusters
• Experience coding against Mongo APIs in Java, especially with Spring Data
• 3+ years Linux experience… we use CentOS, but any *nux/BSD will do
• Do you go to the MongoDB meetup? Fabulous!
• 5+ years Java or C++ coding experience
• Experience managing Reddis, ElasticSearch, Couch, Cassandra, or other data stores is also a plus
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure is a plus
