Position: Public Affairs Senior Account Executive

What: Nyhus is looking for a Public Affairs Senior Account Executive to join their team and focus on growing the number of clients. In this role, the ideal candidate will be able to handle a number projects at once and be able to respond quickly to a changing political environment and client requests. A Senior Account Executive clearly understands the team and client objectives and is proactive in his or her efforts to meet those objectives.

Responsibilities:

Client Service
• Research, understand and anticipate client needs, provide value-added service and outcomes
• Anticipate and manage campaign issues that arise. Seamlessly coordinate with stakeholders and media contacts to facilitate the achievement of client objectives
• Demonstrate strong understanding and awareness of issues in order to provide strategic planning and counsel to the client and stakeholders
Program Management and Tactical Execution
• Develop and present public affairs plans that engage business goals and provide campaign metrics and serviceable budgets
• Manage complex projects with multiple components, stay up-to-date on approaching deadlines, and manage deliverables through completion
• Demonstrate strong ability to design, implement and manage social media programs for clients
Writing
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Proven ability to draft materials and briefing documents without errors
Media Relations
• Solid media relations experience
• Propose story ideas (scope, timing), schedule meetings, educate and shape opinions on key campaign themes
• Provide client interview briefing materials, interview moderation and constructive performance feedback
Administrative Activities
• Manage Interns, Account Coordinators and Account Executives, as necessary
• Participate in cross-team special projects as needed
• Track billable time precisely and consistently
• Proactively work with client and team on contracting, invoicing, allocating resources and managing team time against budget
• Raise the visibility of the firm by participating in external community and industry networking activities
• Look for ways to expand current client work or identify new business opportunities

Requirements:

• BA/BS degree in political science, communications or related field preferred
• At least 4 years of PA agency, political or campaign experience
• At least 2 years managing a client relationship
• At least 1-2 years experience managing individuals or a team
• Experience facilitating media interviews
• Strong ability to produce work under tight deadlines
• Has written and developed press materials
• Developed, presented and executed a PA plans
• Ability to successfully multi-task
• Experience managing team members
• Excellent written and verbal communications
• Team player, positive attitude and ability to self-motivate
