Position: Business Development Representative

What: The Business Development Representative (Sales) reports to the Manager, Business Development (Sales). This role is focused on working within a team of colleagues to create a significant quantity of new sales opportunities that others in the Sales organization can regularly convert into sales, resulting in a significant impact on new sales volume. This will be done by creating and qualifying opportunities, spending significant phone time translating potential opportunities into concrete leads, developing company and contact data and profiles, by developing one’s skills and knowledge base, and ultimately by managing one’s own time effectively.

Responsibilities/Objectives:

Develop Sales Opportunities

  • Identify new business opportunities; meet or exceed targets
  • Fully qualify potential leads
  • Follow-up on WatchGuard events to turn participants into qualified leads
  • Make cold calls, typically as a way to turn event participants into qualified leads
  • Build higher value leads where possible, for example:
    • Short-term leads (within 0-3 month time frame) are higher value leads
    • Longer-term leads (within 3-6month time frame) are lower value leads
  • Generate appointments for TSM’s — for example, may take the form of a private webinar

Make Calls

  • Spend significant time on the phone, creating new leads
  • Meet or exceed targets; typically may average 70-80 calls per day
  • Over a week, average approximately 75 minutes per day in active live conversation with potential leads

Develop Data and Customer Profiles

  • Add new contacts and their data to Sales Force, including:
  • Emails
  • Mobile numbers
  • Ensuring correct addresses
  • Create company/lead profiles, including:
    • VPN and firewall renewal date(s)
    • Technologies currently in use, including IT infrastructure
  • Meet or exceed targets, such as “number of new direct phone lines (or direct email addresses) identified”
  • Create good online notes describing key elements of customer phone conversations

Self Management

  • Manage your time to successfully address the many activities required for success in this role
  • There will be specific duties to be done every week; manage your time to successfully complete those duties

 Requirements:

  • Fluent in Spanish speaking and writing

  • Working Conditions-Position primarily works in an office environment. User of computer display terminal required. Some bending and lifting may be required.
