What: Seattle-based product invention studio seeking experienced graphic designers for in-house or remote contract work. Forrest-Pruzan Creative is a product invention studio specializing in board games and toys. Over the past fifteen years the company has invented hundreds of successful products featuring prominent brands such as Disney, Hello Kitty, Dr. Seuss, Marvel, Star Wars, and more. The company has just re-located to a new studio in the University District of Seattle.

Responsibilities:

The Graphic Designer will be responsible for the design and creation of production files for game packaging and graphical components including logos, boxes, game boards, cards, instructions, user interfaces, and more. This position is responsible for a full range of concurrent design projects across various clients, brands, deadlines, and teams, so communication and time-management skills are critical. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding creativity as demonstrated by an excellent portfolio of work, maximum attention to detail, and high-level technical print and production prowess. The Graphic Designer may manage employee or contractor contributors working in the studio and off-site, so team-management experience is a bonus. This position is benefited by an in-depth understanding of the game and toy industry, and the ability to discuss and translate this knowledge into strong design solutions.

Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts in graphic design preferred; related work experience will be considered.
Minimum 3-5 years experience in consumer packaging design preferred.
Candidates with toy/game packaging experience preferred.
Proficiency in Mac-based design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
3D modeling and rendering skills a plus.
Top-notch typography, color, and composition skills required.
Excellent vector art creation and photo image-editing skills strongly preferred.
Experience in fabrication and creating mock-ups (mounting art to chipboard, cutting, folding, gluing) preferred.
Passion for entertainment, pop-culture, television, movies, children’s characters, and children’s books a plus.
Demonstrated ability to generate creative and functional box die-lines a desired bonus.
The ideal candidate will have excellent creative vision and the technical skills to execute on it. You must be organized, professional, communicative, and resourceful. Expect to have fun, but also to work hard to meet challenging deadlines. You will report to and take high-level creative direction from company principals, and must respond well to feedback. Adaptability to frequent interruptions and changing priorities within a dynamic, energetic environment is essential. The successful candidate will be a consummate problem-solver with a strong work ethic and clear passion for doing the best work in the industry.
