Position: Sr. Digital Marketing Strategist

Where: Bellingham

You’re tuned into the digital lifestyle but have the ability to pragmatically separate the game-changers from passing fads, and you constantly assess how new things can help old marketing channels. To top it off, you excel at helping people keep site of the big picture even when you’re neck-deep into the details (because you can do that really well too).

Responsibilities:You’ll be responsible for assisting clients in clearly defining their digital marketing needs and helping to conceptualize strategies and tactics that ensure those needs are consistently met in innovative ways. It’s your job to ensure the integrity and implementation of guiding strategic principles throughout a project’s life-span. This includes gathering and summarizing research, performing user/customer interviews and facilitating strategy workshops with clients to gain clarity and alignment on project goals. You’ll also serve as a digital marketing consultant in day-to-day interactions with both internal and external project teams, helping to solve problems and craft exceptional user experiences. Responsible for the following:

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of our clients’ needs, business, products, and market; and conduct regular reviews of their competitors’ online presence
  • Lead discovery and research in early project stages: conduct stakeholder interviews, primary and secondary research, review analytics and other materials in order to distill findings for project teams
  • Define marketing directions for major Toolhouse projects and lead brainstorming meetings with the Toolhouse project team (which represents various areas of expertise) to come up with fresh ideas that can be used to create compelling strategic visions for Toolhouse clients
  • Author and deliver various documents and presentations such as creative briefs, positioning statements, brand eco-systems, digital communication plans, research plans, social media strategies and digital strategy roadmaps
  • Provide ongoing strategic and tactical advice to clients on a wide range of digital marketing topics and continue to highlight Toolhouse’s value in the digital marketing space
  • Support account directors and project services personnel by providing clear strategic direction and inspiration to both clients and internal project teams
  • Participate in new business development meetings when required and partner with account directors to support ongoing client satisfaction and growth in key accounts
  • Keep up with technology trends such as web, mobile, and social, and participate in regular knowledge exchanges with peers
  • Experiment with new tools and techniques to constantly improve our strategic processes and output
  • Regularly publish thought leadership pieces targeted at current and potential clients in Toolhouse’s key client verticals and industries

Requirements:

  • 7+ years experience in a client-facing role at a digital marketing agency, or within a digital marketing role on the client/brand side
  • 4-year degree — preferably with a specialty in Marketing
  • In-depth knowledge of branding, channel marketing, product marketing, digital marketing, Internet technologies, web analytics, social media, and mobile
  • Relentless problem solving skills and the ability to assess and resolve complex challenges for varied client needs.
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Ability to create professional-looking documents and presentations coupled with strong presentation/public speaking skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and the ability to carefully manage details
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of personalities
  • Ability to work across multiple projects at once
  • Ability to focus and work under pressure during tight deadlines with humor, tact, and professionalism
  • Experience in medical or technology marketing a plus
