Position: Marketing Manager

Where: Seattle

What: The Marketing Manager tracks and executes marketing, advertising, promotions, and media / in-kind sponsorships as directed by the Marketing Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Marketing Director in managing relationships with media sponsors, including updating media sponsor contracts and generating media sponsor recaps. Requires immaculate attention to detail and strong writing skills.
  • Track fulfillment of media sponsor benefits and follow-up with media outlets as necessary to ensure all paid and sponsored ads are running.
  • Update ad production schedule based on media sponsor contracts and ad buys.
  • Manage Bumbershoot street team—scheduling dates, booking and training volunteers, and other logistics with strong support from marketing intern.
  • Manage Bumbershoot Facebook ad campaign. Write ads, track and analyze which ads perform well, and adapt/optimize campaign accordingly. Potential to grow position to managing other digital campaigns.
  • Prepare weekly Google Analytics performance reports for digital ad and email marketing campaigns.
  • Copywriting as necessary, such as for weekly email blasts, blog posts on various One Reel event websites, ads, or MC scripts for events.
  • While on-site for events, be primary on-site contact for media sponsors; includes coordinating media sponsor on-site needs, load-in and load-out.
  • Co-supervise marketing intern with Marketing Director.
  • Assist as assigned with administrative tasks.

Requirements:

  • Candidate has a B.A. or equivalent experience in marketing, communications or similar area of study.
  • Successful candidate is self-motivated, a quick learner, and able to work under pressure.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, demonstrating advanced problem solving and strong leadership skills.
  • Must effectively manage multiple, complex projects on tight deadlines and be able to prioritize. Must be willing to put in the hours as needed to get the job done with a high degree of accuracy and quality. This will involve working some evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Must be efficient, detail oriented, flexible and creative.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and quickly able to learn other software programs as assigned (i.e. Keynote, online applications and software).
  • Displays excellent customer service skills and professional email and phone etiquette.
  • Ideal candidate has a strong interest in arts and music, has an analytical mind, and is eager to learn about all facets of arts and entertainment marketing.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with an arts focused background and large-scale event experience, and those with a strong interest in pursuing marketing or promotions as a career path.
