Position: Web Developer

What: Big Fish is seeking a talented Web Developer to work closely with the Marketing team. This position reports to the Sr. Marketing Manager. A successful candidate will be a well-rounded developer and a savvy technologist, with a knack for marketing and analytics. This position is responsible for providing support for Big Fish marketing efforts, including microsites, blogs, and landing pages as well as assisting in the customization and day-to-day operation of the team’s Marketing initiatives. You will need an uncanny ability to get stuff done, be quick & smart and never want to stop learning.
Responsibilities:
- Function independently with little supervision, proactively taking ownership of key projects.
- Engage with stakeholders to assess existing and upcoming business needs and maintain regular communication to update stakeholders on progress made on projects
- Be willing to work both independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Show product ownership through collaboration with product managers, designers, and other marketing team members
- Show strong inter-personal and communication skills, including clear and concise writing
- Create production-quality online assets from PSD using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Develop optimized, cross-platform front-ends in CSS/HTML/Javascript, and work with the PHP code to support it
- Develop themes and plugins for sites hosted on WordPress
- Manage marketing web assets and sites
- Create sales landing pages and perform on-going A/B tests
- Create scripts and tools to meet various marketing needs
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree or higher, preferably in CS or a combination of education and applicable experience
- 2+ years of relevant web programming experience
- Ability to switch rapidly between different projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
- Demonstrate strong interaction and rapid prototype engineering skills across a broad spectrum of technologies including:
- HTML / XHTML
- HTML5
- CSS
- Javascript: DOM manipulation and Ajax
- Strong knowledge of jQuery
- PHP / MySQL
- XML / JSON
- SVN
