Position: Senior Business Analyst

What: Stripes39 is seeking a data-savvy analyst with excellent Web and strategic research skills to join our world-class Data Analytics team. This team is responsible for leading data analysis and requirements for our businesses to be successful, including the discovery, ongoing analysis, adhoc analysis and actionable feedback required to make the best possible decisions. The scale of the data varies in type and quality treatment–and the ability to manage multiple projects and build a team is core to our mission. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and quantitative skills, poised in working with many levels of staff, strong organizational and planning skills, initiative and enthusiasm, and strong interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Work with business leaders in various functions including Marketing, Content, Operations, Development, Finance and Technology to identify key metrics to manage the Stripes39 business
- Perform deep dive analysis and identify root causes of key business trends
- Identify and implement solutions to better automate and streamline the existing metrics processes
- Lead the weekly new metrics prioritization and planning meetings including facilitation of meetings and coordination of status updates.
- Work with content team to conduct research for proprietary content projects, e.g. develop topic lists, review market trends, conduct competitor comparisons, and prioritize marketing data requests.
- Investigate and analyzes data quality issues. Researches, determines scope and complexity of issue, and identifies steps to remedy issue.
- Drive projects to build out our analytics and data infrastructure to help Stripes39 better understand its performance drivers
- Manage a growing team of analysts in these efforts
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Business is preferred
- 5+ years in a data-intensive analyst role in business intelligence, corporate analytics, consulting, financial services, etc.
- Extensive MS Office Suite experience (2007 and newer, specifically with Excel)
- Demonstrated experience in SQL/MySQL skills with simple database queries
- Experience researching, analyzing and summarizing data into impactful business cases
- Project management experience leading successful cross functional initiatives
Preferred Candidates will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Familiarity with financial reporting software (Cognos/Oracle/Essbase/Clikview or similar tools)
- Writing, copy editing experience
- Strong analytic, financial modeling, and reporting skills required
- Excellent communication skills, sense of prioritization, initiative, and accountability
- Ability to effectively collaborate, prioritize, and execute on tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment
- Strong desire to exceed expectations
- Ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives
