 The Quality Assurance Manager inspires and facilitates the flawless delivery of POP’s high quality applications in a predictable and efficient manner. They ensure that projects are thoroughly tested and successfully released in an efficient and repeatable manner. Key to POP’s success is the ability of this person to partner both with the QA Engineers and with other POP departments. This Manager provides comprehensive staff management, work planning, resource allocation, and testing deliverables for software projects in concert with broader project teams. This person reports to the VP of Technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES • Ensures the highest level of continuous testing improvements through process analysis, automation, and establishing quality standards seeking to be a part of the flawless execution engine • Coordinates regression, integration, performance, load, and automated testing. Works with business owners and the development team to drive, coordinate, and perform all levels of testing • Maintains and distributes quality metrics and contributes to business and technical risk assessments • Defines, implements, and maintains an integrated testing infrastructure and testing lab • Administers POP’s issue tracking system • Defines, implements, and enforces QA best practices, policies and procedures • Leads a team that reviews specifications and develops a comprehensive understanding of testing requirements by producing test plans and test cases • Actively collaborates and partners with Development and Program Management teams • Defines and executes test cases, identifies and documents bugs, facilitates bug triage meetings, and escalates and resolves test discrepancies • Leads, motivates, and mentors direct reports by effort and example • Meets regularly with teams and defines goals in support of testing assigned feature areas. Confirms project assignment matches to the agreed upon schedules (includes Static, Functional, BVT, Smoke, Performance, Regression and Ad Hoc Testing) • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Technology

QUALIFICATIONS • 3-5 years testing consumer-facing products in a formal development environment and with demonstrated leadership ability • 5-7 years testing consumer facing products in a formal development environment leading a QA team • Prior work experience in ecommerce, Web, and/or Intranet testing in a production environment with multi-tiered applications in a multi-platform environment • Extensive experience testing and leading other QA Engineers in the testing of multi-tiered client/server and web applications in a business context where schedule and budget matter • Experience testing products against a rich test matrices: Windows Server, SQL Server, .NET, content management systems, and mobile devices; experience testing in a LAMP environment also acceptable. • Strong administration experience with JIRA bug tracking software is desired • Previous work experience in virtualized test environments • In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies (i.e. static, black box, white box, regression, performance, and load testing) and QA testing tools. • Willingness to do hands-on testing and to help team members drill down into complex issues • Demonstrated experience managing multiple, cross-functional, complex testing efforts • Strong cross-team collaboration with the ability to advocate for your client, your team, and the agency • Previous experience working with large consumer-facing web clients • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment • Strong leadership, mentorship and team motivation abilities • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Detail-oriented, strong analytical skills, and resourceful in issue resolution • Technology thought leadership with a passion for trends and emerging platforms
