Responsibilites:
– Working directly with clients
– Employing modern development tools such as HTML5, CSS3, Javascript (Angular, particularly), WordPress/LAMP stack, staging/production environments, version control with git, etc.
– Testing, catching mistkaes, then testing again
– Juggling 6 to 10 projects in various states of completion
– Scoping new work
– Assigning tasks to the team, and helping junior devs with new concepts
– Balancing budget needs when approaching a task: framework versus custom build? Off-the-shelf plugin or contract a specialist?
Learning with 20% Projects

As much as we love working for our clients, we also enjoy the continuity and control of developing our own products. We spend about 20% of our time on this. Every few months we brainstorm concepts, talk about the new technologies we want to learn, and then get to work. Everyone learns something, some turn into fun little demos, and a few have become money-making products.

Requirements: 

– 4+ years experience and proven track record as Front End Engineer, Web Developer, UI Developer or similar role, demonstrated with a portfolio of work
– Ability to code pixel-perfect, responsive CSS3-based layouts
– Comfortable working within the WordPress/LAMP stack
– WordPress expertise, particularly theme and plugin development
– Familiarity with Linux
– Comfortable juggling multiple, competing tasks
– 100% comfortable with semantic HTML, CSS, SASS, Javascript
– RESTful API usage and specification
– Regular use of git for version control
– Familiarity with work with a web server, particularly cPanel and Terminal/SSH
– Experience building interfaces using Angular and Node.js
– Experience with unit testing and automation
– Cross browser testing experience
– Knowledge of design principles and usability for mobile and web-based front end engineering
– Ability to learn new technologies and software as necessary
– Understanding of DNS principals as related to launching and migrating websites and their services
