What: Seattle University has an exciting, dynamic opportunity for a Senior Programmer Analyst to join our community.

The Senior Programmer Analyst serves as a key team member of the Application Services team, which is responsible for the University’s applications and system integrations.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications, the Senior Programmer Analyst is responsible for development activity including coordination with other team members and development of complex technical designs and applications features.

The Senior Programmer Analyst is a key technical resource for other development staff, providing technical advice, review, training and support for various projects.

This position is a core member of the University’s multi-year Colleague ERP re-implementation project leading system design and configuration, data migrations, interface work, etc. Ongoing work will focus on the University’s Colleague ERP and numerous other third party applications.

A successful candidate must demonstrate and apply a variety of advanced technical skills, including knowledge of multiple programming languages. As new technologies emerge, the Senior Programmer Analyst is expected to quickly learn these technologies, resolve any problems involved in integrating the technologies with the university’s systems, define appropriate development standards associated with the technology and train other development staff of its use.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field plus four (4) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Experience including analysis, design, coding, and implementation of large-scale custom built object-oriented applications.

Programming experience in modern object oriented languages (e.g. Java, C++, .NET ).

Strong object oriented design knowledge, including extensive design patterns knowledge.

Familiarity with relational databases like- Microsoft SQL Server.

Strong programming knowledge of Envision and/or TSQL.

Personal accountability for project timelines and milestones.

Ability to work successfully individually and in a team-oriented environment.

Commitment to service.

Ability to exercise sound judgment in complex situations. Strong problem solving skills coupled with exceptional attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal and team collaboration skills.

Excited about technology and its impact, keeping abreast of industry trends and learning and adapting skill set quickly and accordingly.

Self-starter and likes designing systems to meet business requirements and enjoys tackling complex analysis and design efforts.
