Position: Infrastructure Operations Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy systems and infrastructure for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of cloud systems and services
- Develop cloud operational tools from theory to production
- Identify weaknesses in cloud systems and debug software issues
- Maintain and extend operational metrics and data collection in all cloud systems
- Identify and mitigate performance bottlenecks
- Continuously seek out and integrate new external solutions that can be leveraged
- Work directly with engineering teams building cloud services
- Mentor others to enable them to deploy and maintain better systems
Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science, related degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in building cloud infrastructures and orchestration to scale
- 2+ years of experience with Linux/Unix system administration
- 2+ years of experience coding in any of Python, JavaScript, C/C++, PHP or Java, with an emphasis on understanding and tweaking high performance distributed systems
- Experience working directly and hands-on with system and production operations
- Experience working with zero-touch cloud services
- Experience managing application performance monitoring
- Possess a strong understanding of aspects of service health including processor, memory, and network utilization
- Possess a strong grasp of automation tools and data management
- Familiar with agile software development processes and continuous deployment
- Able to build storage management clusters
- Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases such as Hive, Aster Data, Greenplum, Cassandra, Vertica
- Experience working with Hadoop/HDFS framework
- Experience with distributed version control like Git, Bazaar, Mercurial
