What: Sr. Web Designer/Developer Where: Seattle What: The Web Designer is responsible for all aspects of creating and maintaining our website, including design and implementation of front-end interactive web features, banners, and other consumer-facing content (website pages, landing pages, digital newsletter, email templates, calculators and more) You will also be responsible for testing our responsive design and enhancing the user experience. Responsibilities: Plan site design by clarifying goals; designing functionality Produce initial concept mockups, wireframes, user flows, interaction specs and front-end development Implement, edit, and architect front-end interactive web features, banners, and other consumer-facing content (website pages, landing pages, digital newsletter, email templates, calculators and more) Use advanced CSS techniques in order to solve design issues Collaborate with copywriters and graphic artists in developing site content; text, images, icons, banners audio enhancements, etc. Serve as a user experience advocate and expert within multi-functional projects Develop site navigation by categorizing content; funneling traffic through content Maintain/update all rate tables, calculators and data-driven-tools Work closely with back-end developers for online banking and third party enhancements Ensure digital assets meet digital style guide, graphic standards, and brand standards. Develop and maintain the digital design guidelines and pattern library Establish discoverability by registering with search engines Upgrade site by updating content and graphics; monitoring performance and results; identifying and evaluating improvement options; introducing new technology; maintaining links Perform usability tests on interface design to insure cross-browsers compatibility Provide information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends Test and maintain quality assurance of all web properties Monitor traffic trends and trouble spots to improve the member experience Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, company procedures and policies Perform other duties as assigned Requirements 3-5 years of experience in web site design/web development A degree or certification in Web Design/Web Development, Interactive Media, Digital Marketing, or closely related field Strong front-end development skills: HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (jQuery) Strong UI / UX skill and understanding of usability Experience with CSS pre-processors: LESS, Sass, or Stylus Some experience with front-end frameworks: Bootstrap, Foundation, etc. Some experience with PHP Familiar and experience with latest web design trends: responsive, parallax, jQuery / CSS animation, etc. Some experience with Adobe Suite skills: Photoshop and Illustrator Dedication to produce clean code that validates and follows industry coding style standards Debugging and problem solving skills Some experience with cross-browser, platform, and device manual/automation testing Excellent communication skill, both verbal and written Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments, set priorities, meet deadlines, complete follow-up and maintain required records with minimal supervision Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team Working knowledge of SEO: hNews, Microformats Experience with optimizing website performance Experience with Database: MySQL, MS SQL, etc. Experience with Javascript MV* frameworks: AngularJS, Backbone.js, Ember.js, etc. Additional CMS experience: WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Magento, etc. Additional Adobe Suite skills: Fireworks, InDesign, Edge, etc. Experience with Source Code Management: Git, SVN, etc. Additional back-end programming languages: .NET, Ruby on Rails, Python, etc. Experience with third-party APIs (JSON, XML, Ajax) Experience with LAMP environment Willingness to work with back-end frameworks: Laravel, JavaScript, MVC/MC Experience with development tools: Grunt, Bower, node, etc. Experience with Object Oriented Programming Agile project management experience
