Position: Senior Marketing Manager
What: The Senior Marketing Manager – Messaging will be charged with developing Whitepages’ messaging infrastructure across its web and mobile properties to increase user engagement and visit frequency. This person will be responsible for developing the strategy, determining the infrastructure needs, crafting the messaging universe, and launching the program. Responsibilities also include optimizing the experience based on user feedback and quantitative data with the end goal of increased engagement and visits.
Craft the overall messaging strategy that delivers on corporate objectives
Work collaboratively across the company to develop technical requirements to execute the strategy
Determine the best technical approach to execute the messaging strategy which might include vetting internal resources and capabilities or 3rd party services
Spearhead agreed upon technical solutions from concept to implementation and refinement. If 3rd parties are to be involved, this would include contract negotiation, vendor onboarding, and technical integration.
Launch messaging strategy
Develop monitoring capabilities to ensure the program is working as planned; effectively communicate issues to responsible groups within the organization for quick resolution
Relentlessly test messaging to optimize performance (timing, triggers, creative, content, etc.)
Concept new ways to message customers based on evolutions in Whitepages product and customer input
Effectively advocate for additional resources (internal, external) as program grows and results justify increased investment
Provide regular reporting and analysis of messaging performance
Influence the overall product and marketing strategy to facilitate increased messaging opportunities
Pitch in opportunistically and where necessary across the marketing and product teams
Technical knowledge, skills, education and experience:
5 or more years hands-on experience managing high-volume messaging programs for consumer-oriented web companies
Must be able to demonstrate expert knowledge of messaging best practices for email and app messaging including opt-in/out management, user experience considerations, deliverability, etc.
Must be able to demonstrate expert knowledge of one of the following messaging platforms (Responsys, CheetahMail, MailChimp, etc.)
Must be able to demonstrate exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a demonstrated ability to work with complex data sets
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate analytical conclusions and their impact on the overall business
Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, fluid environment where prioritization and multi-tasking skills were necessary
