Position: Project Manager – Technical Operations
Where: Seattle
What: Tableau is looking for a driven Program Manager on the Technical Operations team.
Responsibilities: You will own the design, delivery and support of our company’s production Internet and developer support systems. You will partner with our Development, Marketing and other Operations teams to build scalable production systems, as well as Developer support systems. With your strong project management skills you will have the opportunity to drive development efforts while keeping business stakeholders and technical teams informed.
You have a thorough understanding of the technologies used to implement Internet systems at scale and systems / workflows to enable Developer efficiencies. As well as a strong desire to help fulfill the Tableau mission of helping people see and understand their data. Some of the things you’ll be doing include:
• Run complex projects and programs through the complete program lifecycle
• Take ownership of production internet systems and relationships with key business and development team stakeholders
• Have full participation in testing, implementation and escalation support of systems
• Define resources and schedule for project/program implementation
• Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning Direct and oversees project engineering and third party deliverables
• Efficiently identify and resolve program issues
• Develop requests for proposals (RFPs) for external services
Requirements:
• You have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or equivalent experience. PMP certification is preferred.
• You have 3-6 years’ experience in project management and/or IT management. At least 3 of those years have been spent coordinating and supporting production internet systems.
• Experience with developer support systems such as Perforce, Team City and Git is required. Scripting and programming skills are desired.
• You know what to say and more importantly, how to say it. You’re adept at communicating with a variety of different teams and experience levels.
