What: Near the turn of the millennium, as the Internet was opening new markets and e-Commerce was beginning its rapid growth, a group of merchants joined together to share information and best practices about keeping electronic commerce safe and secure. As e-Commerce grew and fraud became more sophisticated, the Merchant Risk Council (MRC) was formed to increase networking and information sharing among merchants to better enable them to successfully fight online fraud. In this key role, you  will have responsibility as the primary resource for efficiently resolving all technical issues related to Workstations, Servers, Member management systems, SharePoint and overall Website health.

Today, with over 900 members representing over 300 member companies across the globe, the MRC not only continues to provide a platform for information sharing and discussion, but acts as an advocate for e-Commerce merchants, providing a unified voice for improving the industry as a whole.

Over our ten-year history, with the continued support of our strong member base, we have emerged as the world’s foremost trade association for managing payments, preventing online fraud and promoting secure e-Commerce. Through our programs and events, we successfully bring together e-Commerce and multi-channel merchants, credit card issuers, credit card companies, risk management providers, and law enforcement, to engage and learn from each other in an effort to make the Internet a safer and more profitable place to do business.

The MRC delivers year-round programming that empowers our members with the knowledge and tools to succeed in the online payment, security, and risk industries of today, as well as tomorrow. We currently lead four global programming initiatives: Networking, Education, Benchmarking, and Advocacy.

Responsibilities: This role will have responsibility as the primary resource for efficiently resolving all technical issues related to workstations, servers, member management systems, Share Point and overall website health. This person will also be required to create, perform and maintain data analysis leveraging multiple sources to monitor key performance indicators as set forth by organization leadership. Finally this professional will be expected to assist with deeper level technical projects by providing expertise during all release phases including, developing business requirements, specification design, testing and production. The key measure of success for the selected candidate will be the degree to which primary responsibilities are met while also delivering proactive and actionable solutions to mitigate technical issues while optimizing technical initiatives.

Activities: 

  • Own and manage the overall IT aspects of the MRC.
  • Resolve workstation, server, data management and website technical issues
  • Manage day to day staff technical needs to ensure effective business operations
  • Deliver and maintain business intelligence system to align with KPI’s
  • Support technical integration with vendors
  • Provide technical requirements, specifications and testing plan for IT initiatives
  • Optimize database management
  • Maintain technical systems reference documentation

Requirements: Candidate must be an energetic individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who welcomes challenges and is able to work in a fast paced, quick response environment. The individual must be able to work in ambiguous situations, work independently and be willing to accept business and technology change. He or she must possess adequate business acumen to work with remote colleagues in a virtual environment while being a team player and be able to effectively communicate technical issues to individuals with varying technical expertise.

Must possess ability to obtain, analyze and report on large data-sets from multiple disparate sources leveraging tools such as (Excel (pivot tables), Access, SQL) Must possess demonstrated analytical ability used in effective technical problem-solving.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and sound understanding with the ability to debug, troubleshoot, identify and resolve issues quickly for the following platforms:

  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Exchange
  • SharePoint 2010
  • Remote Desktop Service
  • Talkswitch Phone Systems

Also must have:

  • 2-4 year experience with PC support/maintenance in small multi-office environments.
  • Deep knowledge of Windows 7& 8, Office 2007/2010 Suite, SharePoint 2010, VPN, Networking and LAN/WAN environments.
  • Minimum 2-year Associates Degree in IT.
  • Proven experience with website design and management.
  • Ability to quickly isolate and resolve PC, printer and network related problems.
  • Statistics background a plus.
