Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE): Centering Platform Design

Join faculty from the University of Washington’s Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) for an enlightening presentation series about research at the intersection of technology, design, and human experience.

Hosted at Halcyon Brewing Company in Greenwood, Seattle, these informal conversations are intended to be accessible and engaging for everyone, regardless of background. Join us and learn how we collaborate to improve technology and systems for a more just future.

Conversations will be from 7-8 p.m. with mingling from 6-7 p.m. All ages are welcome, and food and beverages will be available for purchase. The promise and pitfalls of centering equity in platform design With Daniela Rosner & Julie Kientz How do we create technology and systems for a more just future? Providing examples from their collaborative research on technologies for childcare workers and children with speech and language disorders, HCDE Professors Julie Kientz and Daniela Rosner will discuss what it takes to center equity in the design process.
