All great mentorships start with a spark of connection. Our personal stories hold the power to inspire others and create meaningful connections. Join Sarah Haggard, Tribute Founder and CEO to learn how to use your personal stories and life experiences to mentor others. In this session, you’ll learn why storytelling is so essential for effective mentoring, how to tell your story and how to set the stage for meaningful connections in your mentoring relationships. You’ll walk away with practical tips and tricks to deepen your connection and make the most of your mentoring (and other professional) relationships.

Sarah Haggard

Sarah is a proven business leader who has led multiple start-up initiatives within her decade-long career in product marketing at Microsoft, raising $40M to scale her last business. Expert in P&L management, enterprise software and GTM strategy, Sarah’s tenacity and drive for results led to her being widely recognized as a turnaround expert and new business incubator. Sarah’s leadership style is engaging and authentic. Her superpower is her ability to spot patterns, create high performing teams and activate the right people at the right time to deliver results. Sarah holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Seattle University and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Business Administration from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. Format

Fundamentals for Startups is a weekly one-hour lecture series featuring notable experts who share startup-related information, experience, and insights with our entrepreneurial community. From raising capital to scaling to exit strategies, these seasoned guest speakers deliver valuable content designed to help startups and entrepreneurs thrive. Lectures are typically 30-40 mins, followed by open Q&A.

Each lecture is filmed, live streamed and archived on CoMotion’s Startup Training Videos page.

Light refreshments will be served. These lectures are open to the public and you do not have to be currently affiliated with the UW or a startup to join, but please pre-register. We hope to see you there!
