October 25, 2016 @ 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us for a discussion on defense-in-depth as we cover current and specific challenges surrounding cyber security. Learn how data and private information is being exploited and more importantly how you can protect yourself from these nasty threats. This event will feature some of Washington’s best and brightest cyber security teachers:

1. Cybersecurity – Industry Trends and What Can Be Done
Ransomware attacks, security breaches and compliance fines are increasingly making headlines these days. In fact, they are becoming so common that new breaches don’t cause the kind of alarm that they did in recent years. That is, unless it happens to you and your business. In this presentation we will explore industry trends and what can be done to help minimize your business risk. Focus will be with Medical, Professional Services (Accounting and Legal) and Commercial Real Estate.
2. Is Your Data Protected?
As data breaches continue to threaten the safety of information and corporate infrastructure, risk assessment of data is no longer a nice-to-have—it is a must have. Data mapping, the process of electronically identifying and organizing data, can minimize the impact of a data breach by allowing organizations a clear understanding of the location, format, and security level of their data. This process can help organizations to quickly assess, mitigate, and remediate a plan of action when a breach occurs.
3. Protecting Your Data in the Cloud – One Size Does Not Fit All
Ed Kimm, Managing Partner & CRO of Wowrack
Mr. Kimm is Partner & Chief Revenue Officer. Ed began his career in the Internet and Hosting industry back in 1998 with Compass Communications, an ISP. Compass was eventually acquired by, FiberCloud, a data center colocation company. After the acquisition, Ed then joined Wowrack as Managing Partner, heading its Hybrid Cloud Division. “To stay ahead in tech, you need to have a highly sensitive ear to your customer’s needs and push to continually innovate. I often share to organizations I help advise that ‘one type Cloud does not fit all’ and hosting decisions today are driven by several factors. To find success, it’s also important to find a niche in our marketplace. Becoming a solution for true Hybridization on various Cloud deployment models, and interconnecting those technologies, allows us to meet both the budgetary and workload needs of the companies we serve.”
Bryce Matsuoka, President and CEO of Above Cloud
Mr. Matsuoka brings more than 25 years of business continuity, security and information technology consulting experience to Above Cloud. Consulting Principal with more than 25 years of technology consulting and corporate experience within the healthcare, finance, retail, communications, industrial and public services industries.
Bryce has presented numerous times on the topics of Cybersecurity Intrusion Prevention and Detection, Compliance Services (HIPAA & PCI), Business Resilience and Disaster Recovery and Risk Management Advisory Services. He will be publishing an article in Fall 2016 issue of Physician’s Insurance Magazine titled “Health Care: an Increasingly Common Ransomware Target – Data Breaches: A Guide to Prevention and Recovery.” Mr Matsuoka is a proud member of the Bellevue Rotary Club and enjoys giving back to a variety of charitable causes/programs.
Dean Van Dyke, President and CEO of iBridge LLC
Mr. Van Dyke brings more than 18 years of compliance, information management, customer relations, business process outsourcing, lean six sigma, program/project management, manufacturing, and vendor management experience to iBridge. As the former head of Microsoft’s corporate records and information management team, he gained in-depth global business knowledge and the challenges associated to it. Along with his business experience, Dean served honorably for over fourteen years in the U.S. Navy and Army National Guard. During his tour in the Navy, he served aboard USS Tattnall (DDG-19) and USS Gallery (FFG-26). In 1990, Dean deployed to the Red Sea in support of Operation Desert Shield and in 1991 to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Desert Storm.
