It’s a global, grassroots movement. It’s active and empowered entrepreneurs who learn the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. Startup Weekend is a non-profit headquartered in Seattle, Washington but it really spans the globe. Startup Weekend organizers and facilitators can be found in over 200 cities around the world, from Mongolia to South Africa to London to Brazil. People, just like you, who want to be entrepreneurs, who have dreams and ideas, from around the globe are coming together. Bellevue Startup Weekend follows the highly successful Startup Weekend Model. Anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea. Yes, that’s right you get to pitch your idea. Then you get feedback from the other entrepreneurs. There’s a popular vote and then teams form around the top ideas. It’s a chance to see the marketplace model in action. It’s a chance to be part of the Startup action. Then comes the 54 hour frenzy. You’ll work on business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation and experience the high intensity environment. The weekend culminates with presentations in front of leading local entrepreneurs-people who have succeeded and who are out their everyday. You get a chance to hear their valuable feedback.
