Job Summary and Mission
This position contributes to Starbucks success by developing, growing and leading a team of product managers, designers and data analysts on the Partner Technology team. This team directly manages partner (employee) facing web and mobile applications in multiple domains including collaboration, communication, operations, training and more.

To be successful, the manager needs to be a servant leader who is comfortable shifting between high level strategy and detailed requirements and communication plans. You must have exceptional communication skills including the ability to communicate complex solutions to non-technical stakeholders. You must be highly skilled in assessing high value requirements and having difficult conversations when needed to manage stakeholder and leadership expectations. You will enable your team to deliver effective and simple digital tools that are designed for joy.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Hires, trains, grows, coaches and leads a diverse team of product managers, digital designers and data analysts
  • Directs and oversees the evaluation, development, release and enhancement of digital products to achieve business objectives
  • Integrates business requests, usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements
  • Oversees feature intake requests and prioritization; owns roadmap planning, serving as liaison to other product and IT teams for cross-functional planning and prioritization
  • Sets stakeholder expectations on scope, priorities and release cadence
  • Socializes solutions and innovative ideas to cross-functional business and IT stakeholders, driving alignment and engagement as needed
  • Defines and analyzes metrics to measure success criteria and business value of features and products, inform the product roadmap and influence stakeholders
  • Tracks and analyzes audience and engagement compared to industry benchmarks, feeding insights back into short and long term planning
  • Builds and maintains relationships with strategic industry partners, bringing competitive landscape and innovation to Partner Technology team
  • Evaluates potential business partnerships, negotiates alliances and manages ongoing relationship with alliance partners, including measurement of operating performance and delivery of shared business objectives
  • Recommends and drives selection of strategic and user experience vendors (including partner insights, user experience design, testing, and visual design)
  • Serves as a stakeholder in the selection of technical vendors

Summary of Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in building and leading high performing teams (3 years)
  • Progressive experience in managing and delivering software products – web and mobile (7 years)
  • Experience using multiple product management, software development life cycle and data analytics tools (7 years)
  • Progressive experience managing products and/or teams in large, high-profile enterprise organizations, preferably in retail or QSR industry (5 years)
  • Financial and budget planning and management, sourcing and procurement, vendor and contract management (5 years)
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or work experience in software or related field
