Position: Server/ Client SDET
Where: Seattle
What: As a SDET2 with NetMotion Wireless, you will use your technical expertise to create, port, and maintain automation in C# and SQL; use automation tools including Selenium, and SOAP based interfaces. This automation will support high layer UI based tests down to the network layer, and mobile roaming tests, which will rely on your understanding of network protocols and rules. You will be working with network interfaces, switches, active directory and multiple RADIUS servers, as well as Windows, Android and iOS platforms. You will be working in an Agile Scrum development team and communicating daily with testers, developers, documentation writers and management. At times you may be requested to take on other tasks such as help with documentation, documentation reviews, manual testing and bug fixes as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Creating and maintaining test automation software for a large-scale, mobile device system with server backend
• Creating and maintaining effective user stories and tasks in an Agile Development workflow
• Managing performance and scale testing of large DB systems as well as general server performance
• Managing performance lab resources including VMware and AWS instances
• Working effectively with the test team, developers, support and technical writers
• Testing client-server applications running over wired and wireless networks on Android, iOS, Mac and Windows clients, and Windows servers
• Advocating for product quality and elevating issues when appropriate
• Assisting QA team as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Self-motivated, with an ability to work both independently and as a member of a collaborative team
• Two or more years software testing experience (as a Software Engineer) on a client/server or networking-related product
• One or more years of writing software experience (a job that requires experience with Visual Studio, C#, MySQL coding)
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Solid understanding of multithreaded and asynchronous programming (not just studied in school)
• A strong understanding of general networking concepts and protocols
• Configuration and troubleshooting experience with VPN’s, firewalls, NATs, routers, gateways and networking servers required
• Strong analytical ability, detail orientated, and excellent organizational skills
• Basic understanding of .Net web API
• Basic understanding of HTML and Selenium
General understanding of geo mapping or the underlying mathematics (graph theory)
Experience with Splunk and/or Hadoop
