Position: Software Engineer

What: iSpot.tv is seeking Mid-level and Senior Software Engineers to join our growing Engineering team. We have a product that is changing how brands, agencies and networks measure and assess the impact of TV advertising campaigns. Our software uses proprietary audio and video analysis to monitor and extract TV commercials, movie trailers and other promotional content from TV. At the same time, our software analyzes consumer interactions with TV ads on the digital screen across search, video and social.

This is a rare opportunity to get equity in the early stages of a company with significant early traction and which is run by an experienced team.

We are looking for someone that is highly motivated and knows how to get things done quickly and efficiently. We are not looking for a coding robot — we are looking for someone that’s highly creative and has an insatiable appetite for learning new things and accomplishing challenging goals in a fast moving (and not always structured) environment.

Responsibilities:
• Architecting/developing new features and improving/optimizing existing features and architecture on our Digital Engagement platform.
• Working with large data sets comprised of raw data collected from social media sources and internally generated analysis/rollup data.
• Building and improving algorithms that properly analyze, match, and store social interaction data from multiple sources.
• Integrate monitoring and reporting tools that help improve application visibility and data accuracy.
• Analyze, design, and code improvements to the platform to enhance scalability and performance.

Requirements:
• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• In depth knowledge and 5+ years of experience using object oriented programming.
• Experience in problem solving and debugging issues.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Java and MySQL.
• Proven experience with relational and nosql databases like MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB.
• Proven experience to take a project from scoping requirements through launch of the feature and/or product.
• Experience with Lucene, SOLR, ElasticSearch a plus.
• Strong entrepreneurial skills that bring customer focused ideas to the project.
