Position: Database Architect SQL
Where: Seattle
What: Reporting to the Technical Operations Director, the database architect and T-SQL Developer will be responsible for creating stored procedures, common table expressions, triggers, tables, disaster recovery, back-ups, schemas, and indexes. The SQL Developer will have experience with T-SQL and SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2012.

Responsibilities: 
The database architect will consult on the design of the backend MS SQL database applications to meet functional, performance, reliability, and availability requirements. This position requires individual to have sound knowledge of architecting complex database design for proper integration with applications for current and future technologies. The individual must maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of technologies, planning, design, and analysis methodologies.

Requirements: 
Ability to deploy MS SQL database
Experience with Database Administration for Microsoft SQL Server both hands-on and architect experience
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems
Experience in Design and Modeling using UML and Unified Process including developing logical and physical data modeling.
Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server.
Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.
Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations.
Fluent in the use of SSIS and SSRS for ETL/ ELT and data delivery and reporting.
Excellent knowledge of writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
Hands-on experience in MS SQL db a must. Must be able to dive into database and recommend strategies to improve performance, scalability, and security of application.
Database design and administration – write, test, deploy, and maintain Microsoft SQL.
MS SQL with service broker experience preferred.
Experience with Kafka and Hadoop (MapReduce or Spark) is preferred.
Experience with Tableau reporting server is preferred.
Data Warehouse experience in Dimensional and Transactional Modeling, Materialized Views, Partitioning, SQL.
Working level knowledge of 6+ months on alternate RDBMS technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL desired.
BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
5+ Years experience in Production Internet Services Environment.
Ability to juggle multiple projects with competing priorities in an extremely fast-paced environment.
Clear, concise verbal and written communications skills.
Detail oriented and careful.
