Viri Technology is looking for a Java/Scala expert that would like to work for a company in downtown Seattle in the digital asset space. This company does not hire jerks. . .so if you are one of those, now is the time to stop reading. You have a great mix of technical and soft skills which allow you to excel in a highly collaborative, agile work environment. You are a passionate developer who has participated and led in the design, quality, and testing of any development platforms such as Scala/Java. You are passionate about learning and working with the best language/tool for the job.
Responsibilities:
– Taking an active role in development of low-level design
– Assist release management staff by providing necessary documentation
– Create and maintain project documentation, in accordance with established standards
– Assist Director with capacity planning and resource management
Requirements:
– 7+ years of software development needed, deepest in Java full stack web application development
– 3+ years with RESTful API development, with legacy web services knowledge
– Great UI skills with Javascript/HTML5/CSS and modern Javascript libraries
– Strong backend development skills with SQL, especially in large scale, distributed systems.
– 1+ year of Scala experience; we realize it’s a newer technology, the more you can speak to this the better!
– The proven ability to work in a paired programming environment. This takes a “check your ego at the door” mindset, the ability and enjoyment to collaborate, share ideas, and accept others ideas as well as evangelize your own.
– Project management duties to include documentation, provide status, identify roadblocks and barriers before they happen, and have a great business sense as a software engineer.
