Position: Social Media Director

What: Sinclair Digital Group is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Director who thrives in overseeing large-scale strategic audience and revenue growth projects and who has a deep understanding of how to engage audiences on social platforms.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about innovative social engagement, promotion and advertising. Social sharing and brand management should be a key focus and strongly reflected in your prior experience.
You must be comfortable overseeing initiatives from concept through to delivery with an understanding of changing audience habits and emerging media technologies. Managing multiple tasks and workflows should come naturally, as the job will require overseeing national social media operations and coordinating several projects at any time.
We are seeking candidates from the Seattle, Washington, Baltimore, Maryland, or Washington D.C. markets to fill this position.
Responsibilities:
Develop social strategies and policies for editorial, sales and branding and oversee their implementation
Develop short and long term creative goals and strategies
Oversee and implement social media training efforts across the company
Keep up to date with social product and policy changes and implement necessary strategy or workflow adjustments
Hire excellent social coordinators and related roles and be proactive in recruiting for open and future positions
Serve as the social media expert and point person for social media initiatives across the company
Test and analyze products and strategies, including vendor selection and evaluation
Inspire and motivate staff to achieve goals
Develop ideas and general concepts into actions to grow social reach and engagement on all platforms
Coordinate with representatives from news, sales, engineering and legal departments
Define day-to-day expectations of social media staff
Define audience metrics to be tracked at network and property level
Continuously monitor performance to identify opportunities for increased audience growth
Ensure content produced is compelling and engaging
Requirements:
At least 8 years of experience in online media, including management experience
Deep understanding of Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram and other established and emerging social platforms
Experience interpreting analytics from social platforms and third-party tools
Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale editorial and social media promotional initiatives
Experience managing paid social promotion campaigns on Facebook, Twitter and other platforms.
Experience in TV news or newspaper
Enjoy aggressive recruiting and be able to interact with upper-level management as well as create and maintain relationships
Understanding of online advertising
Ensure compliance of hiring procedures, applicable employment regulations and FCC requirements
A positive, can-do attitude, leadership skills and the ability to achieve goals is a must
BS or BA degree required
Be able to travel up to 60% of the time
