Responsibilities: At Molbak’s, the Marketing Director leads the planning, creation and implementation of brand-enhancing programs and initiatives to increase sales and deliver on our vision and business plan. This is a key leadership role and a hub of collaboration with a focus on customer engagement, visual merchandising, product promotion, multi-channel media, and community outreach.

Requirements: 

7+ years strategic planning experience and leadership in Marketing and Advertising.
5+ years leadership and development of multiple functions.
BA in Business or Marketing related degree preferred.
Demonstrated experience and competency in leading and developing integrated consumer marketing campaigns across multiple channels including social/digital/ecommerce, mass media, direct, visual merchandising, etc.
Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and business partners to develop and execute promotional plans and set benchmarks for success.
A broad understanding of retail marketing, product cycles, and seasonality is preferred.
Demonstrated success using new and creative approaches to reach customers in fresh, relevant ways. Clear understanding of emerging marketing and communication tools.
Excels in the leadership and management of people and relationships. Delivers on commitments and holds others to the same.
Exhibits skill in both creative direction and management. Shows consistent follow through.
Proven track record of prioritizing and managing work flow for self and others — defines and assigns tasks and projects appropriately.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — is able to quickly define the central issue, identify the most appropriate course of action and address it with grace.
Collaborates well with others — has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Is flexible, creative and adept at thinking “outside the box”.
Creates a strong, mutually supportive work spirit and culture where people can do their best.
Demonstrated talent for training, developing, managing and evaluating employees across a wide variety of skills and interests.
Proven track record developing and executing content and messaging across a variety of channels (in-store, print, television, radio, direct mail, web, email, social media and more).
Demonstrated experience planning, developing and managing a departmental budget — combines creativity and cost-consciousness.
Thinks, performs and leads effectively in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
Possesses exceptional written/verbal communication skills as well as strong presentation skills.
Brings proactive attitude, positive energy and common sense to the position.
Challenges the status quo, champions change and influences other to change.
Horticulture knowledge / enthusiasm for gardening is a big plus!
