Position: Online Content Manager

Where: Seattle

What: We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual with experience and skills in web content management, writing and editing for the web, graphic design, and site management. The Online Content Manager ensures excellence in GALA’s online presence and communications through the GALA webinar series, website, e-mail campaigns, publications, and online community. We seek talented candidates who are great communicators, technically savvy, and demonstrate an understanding of content marketing and membership communities. This is a full-time position for our growing organization, the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA, www.gala-global.org). GALA is an international non-profit trade association for the language services industry, with member companies that provide or use translation, internationalization, and localization services as well as translation technologies. The GALA membership is composed of 400+ companies in 60 countries.  This position will report to the Executive Director and will work with our team members in communications, events, and membership. The GALA staff is a dedicated core of professionals working mostly from home with frequent working meetings in our Seattle office. This position requires an enthusiastic, independent individual who is hard working, customer-service oriented, self-motivated, and excellent at juggling multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities: 
Coordinate and publish relevant content, from regular blog postings by members to our quarterly e-magazine
Manage webinar program: recruit speakers, review proposals, market events, moderate live weekly webinars, track participation
Support GALA’s overall marketing needs from membership marketing to conference
Content and Publications
Maintain organizational communications calendar
Quarterly GALAxy e-magazine: recruit guest editors and authors, coordinate articles and review cycle, and prepare graphics
GALA Blog: recruit authors and coordinate calendar; post and promote blog articles
GALA Member Update: prepare content and HTML layout for regular updates to the membership
Webinar Program
Recruit presenters based on topics of interest to the membership; maintain webinar calendar and prospect tracking
Review webinar content proposals; edit descriptions for marketing purposes; publish listings to website
Coordinate live events with presenters; set up and host live events on GoToWebinar
Prepare and send promotional HTML emails
Track and report on participation
Marketing
Manage GALA’s social media channels, including content development and postings (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, LinkedIn)
Prepare HTML and layouts for various e-mail campaigns
Provide graphic design support for marketing activities
Support list development activities and customer database updates
Edit and prepare layouts of survey reports, presentations, and other documents
Coordinate and order materials for events and tradeshows, including promotional giveaways
Distribute GALA press releases to industry outlets
Website and Online Community
Monitor GALA’s website daily for up-to-date content, seeking input from appropriate stakeholders
Moderate member submissions daily (press releases, events, blogs, etc.)
Monitor website traffic and SEO enhancements
Support launch of new online community (currently under development).
Monitor discussions, postings, and identify trends within the community
Work with community champions to develop content and start new discussions and groups
Monitor and measure the success of community engagement and provide reports
Oversee all technical aspects of the community. This includes working with vendors to address, resolve, and communicate any issues related to the features and functionality of the platform.
Report and follow bugs

Requirements 
Bachelor’s degree with 4-5 years of experience in a related area
Experience in one or more of the following: marketing, website management, webinars, online communities, publications
Website, webinar, and email skills: Drupal 7, HTML, Mandrill, Mail Chimp, Real Magnet, GoToWebinar
Graphic design capabilities (Adobe Creative Suite)
Demonstrated tech-savvy
Excellent organizational skills: demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize projects, balance multiple responsibilities, track details, and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills: demonstrated ability to listen, speak and write clearly and communicate effectively with an international audience
Proven data management experience
Sound judgment capabilities for day-to-day work and decision-making
Proven track record of resourcefulness and initiative; motivated self-starter
Foreign language skills desirable

This position search is limited to candidates based in or near Seattle and available to interview in Seattle. This is a full-time exempt position. Salary: Depends on experience. Please include salary requirements with your application.
