Position: Front End Developer

Where: Seattle

What: As a End Developer, you are first and foremost a deep source of technical knowledge in HTML / CSS, with strong experience creating responsive web solutions. You also have a demonstrated capacity to acquire new technical skills and frequently seek out alternative solutions and techniques to enhance what you create. You are able to work effectively across all phases of a web development project–providing development input during the strategy and design phases, conducting thorough testing and troubleshooting, and deploying solutions. You possess the skill and ability to grasp the nuances of a client’s business. You are blessed with an endless curiosity and desire for learning. You are able to communicate effectively with both clients and internal team members.

Responsibilities:
* Convert designs from PSD to HTML & CSS with a focus on responsive web
Find creating solutions to client problems in a range of CMS platforms (Drupal, WordPress, Magento etc)
* Produce semantic markup
* Put users first in every decision you make, and consider user-experience across multiple devices
* Think through performance and accessibility challenges
* Minimize bandwidth requirements and maximize page load speed
* Adhere to web accessibility standards
* Stay on top of industry trends and techniques and share them with your colleagues
* Test new approaches to understand benefits and determine project fit
* Fill in design gaps and create custom application experiences
* Transform designs for desktop to tablet and mobile views (or vice-versa)
* Independently carry out the tone and vision of the design when needed
* Customize bootstrap, foundation or other frameworks for a back-end web application
* Use CSS preprocessors like Sass or LESS

 Requirements:

* Good understanding of usability and user-experience best practices
* Understand Javascript (you may not be a JS expert, but you have some experience and are excited to learn more)
* An understanding of or direct experience with user testing
* Experience building in a range of Content Management Systems
* Bonus points for experience with Rails / .NET / PHP and working with large content sites (ie. Higher ed, government, large corporations, etc.
