The University Communications Office is seeking a talented, innovative, and hardworking web designer to lead their web design team. Work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and creative environment. This position is focused on the design and development of Seattle Pacific University’s website as a public and internal communications interface. You could be a significant part of the web team that fulfills the University’s mission of engaging the culture and changing the world.

Position Duties/Responsibilities:
The person in this position in this position will helps to implement the overall look and feel for the SPU website in priority and strategic areas of the site. This includes designing websites within CMS templates while working with clients to achieve marketing and communications objectives. Demonstrates clean, intuitive, and functional UX design. Supervises and mentors the web design team. Collaborates with all to ensure sharing of creative ideas and the continuity of design and content for client marketing websites and other electronic pieces.

Required Education and Experience/Qualifications:
• At least three years experience in user interface web design and development, designing, and developing multiple websites of varying complexity.
• Excellent understanding of branding, graphic design, interface design, information architecture, and website usability.
• Experience in HTML/CSS, jQuery or equivalent Javascript library.
• Experience with a CMS is required; Sitecore experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of responsive design.
• Strong knowledge and experience in user interface design processes and methodology, as well as in usability testing and research processes.
• Proficiency in developing websites from wireframe and/or prototypes to comps and to a functioning site.
• Must understand and have experience with social media such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube/Vimeo, Instagram, Flickr, WordPress, etc.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to work independently, and manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
