Position: UI/UX Design Manager

Where: Seattle

With an industry leading satisfaction rate of 97 percent Redfin wanst to continue bringing the delight to even more consumers across the country and are seeking the right UI/UX design manager to accelerate making that so. They are searching for a star UI designer  with a proven ability to lead a team of creatives and developers to deliver delightful and usable solutions. This position calls for someone who is comfortable juggling design deliverables as well as mentoring and managing small team of designers.

The ideal candidate has a mix of visual design and user experience skills, and demonstrates very strong design aesthetics coupled with effective UI solutions and some involvement in strategy development. Can walk through examples and present a cohesive business story behind the project and what was the impact.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead large scale projects that demonstrate understanding of frameworks and building systems. Mentors and manages a small group of designers to help them achieve their goals and oversees the department day-to-day operations.
  • Show your proficiency both in tactical execution and in ability to think strategically. Influence the look and style of the visual systems that have an impact on the brand identity.
  • Collaborate and work closely with the Product Managers (PM’s)  and developers on implementation details including doing rapid prototyping (sketches, wireframes, mocks, etc.) to test concepts before development begins.


Requirements:

  • Expert in Photoshop and Illustrator, but adept with a marker and a whiteboard (Bonus: HTML/CSS)
  • Understand how to make something both beautiful and insanely functional
  • Hard-working, fun, creative, and organized
  • Degreed in visual design, human factor and interaction design (or comparable real-world experience), with minimum of 5 years of experience in digital design field
  • Comfortable working alongside creative and non-creative types; communicating your vision and understanding limitations
  • Master of beautiful typography
  • Have a portfolio that demonstrates a range of design styles and UX solutions
