Position: Marketing and PR Director

Where: Seattle

What: The Green Grid (TGG), the global authority on resource efficient information technology, is currently seeking a Marketing and PR Director to lead its marketing and public relations efforts in the North America region and coordinate with TGG marketing vendors across geographies, including Europe, Japan, and China.

Responsibilities:
The Marketing and PR Director will report to the Executive Director and be responsible for the following job functions:
• Strategic counsel to TGG’s leadership on marketing and public relations initiatives targeted at C-level executives, government, sustainability professionals, IT and facility industry leaders and current and potential members
• Brand awareness and strategy through engagements and alliances with global government bodies and industry organizations
• Media and analyst relations programs
• Speaking and award opportunities and submissions
• Social media programs
• Material creation, including but not limited to, press releases, key and core messaging documents, byline articles, supporting abstracts, presentation support, and membership collateral
• Increasing membership through effective membership value propositions
• Event support, including but not limited to, coordination of the event, media briefings, on-site support and post-event wrap-ups
• Monitoring, reporting and measuring public relations and marketing programs and initiatives through reports, monthly metrics, Board Meetings and other TGG measuring tools
• Intern management, as requested

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or technical degree combined with marketing experience
• 6-10 years of marketing and public relations management experience
• 3+ years of marketing and public relations management experience within the IT industry and/or energy efficiency products industry
• Experience working in, or with, marketing and global public relations agencies. Past agency management experience is highly preferred.
• Passion for resource efficiency is a must!
• Strong understanding of data center, resource efficiency IT trends and enterprise and consumer IT behaviors
• Past experience successfully negotiating, planning, and executing co‐marketing and co‐branding programs with external parties, including but not limited to, government agencies, environmental groups and private businesses.
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• Proven record of successfully building consensus among multiple stakeholders during large marketing campaigns
• Past experience in evaluating multiple marketing investment options, including estimating ROI, creating a budget‐feasible priority list and execution plan, and post‐execution reporting of results
• Strong organizational and project tracking and management skills are required
