Position: Marketing Manager, Technology Conferences
Where: Seattle
What: SH Worldwidedelivers world class full-service Event Management, Site Selection, Online Registration, Destination Management and Conference Development.  This position is responsible for marketing and promoting SHW-produced technology conferences. In this position, you will be primarily responsible demand generation for attendees to our conferences (reaching out to target audiences in a variety of ways and securing their attendance to our conferences), for communicating verbally and in writing with all manner of stakeholders about conferences and conference topics (cloud computing, big data and emerging technologies), managing our marketing/PR vendors, acting as outward face of our department with regards to conferences, attending industry meetups and other appropriate events to spread the word, building relationships, and communicating timely and appropriate messaging.
Responsibilities:
• Lead generation for attendees at our conferences — research and secure appropriate lists
• Conduct research via the internet, newspapers and other mediums
• Develop email campaigns to reach target audience
• Build on and implement the existing marketing plan
• Manage marketing/PR vendors (website development, SEO, Social Media, SEM and advertising)
• Attend topic-related events/meetups regularly to promote conference attendance
• Promote department goals through presentations and networking at appropriate events
• Be a towering example of Great Customer Service
• Deliver on commitments & meet all deadlines
• Resolve problems in a positive an efficient manner
Requirements:
• A comprehensive understanding and comfort of the topics of cloud computing and big data technology a must; a passion for emerging technologies a huge plus
• Extraordinary communication & relationship building skills; ability to
• Event/conference marketing and/or demand gen experience a plus
• Outstanding writing proficiency (proper grammar, spelling, language constructs, etc.)
• Extraordinary interpersonal skills with ability to interact positively with a variety of personalities in various situations, both internally and externally facing; team player; good presentation skills
• Be comfortable speaking in both intimate & large group settings and presents a professional image
• Quick thinker and creative problem solver who can deliver on time and within budget
• Attention to detail; strong organizational, project and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment
• Ability to work alone and be a self-starter
• Minimum 5 years professional history in marketing (developing and implementing marketing plans) with results to show
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook
• Schedule flexibility and travel; long hours/weekends are mandatory at times
• Lift 25 pounds with the ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
