Position: Graphic Designer for Newspaper and Magazine Layout and Design
Where: Bellevue
What: RIM Publications is seeking a graphic designer who will be responsible for LAYOUT and collaborating on the design of our weekly newspapers as well designing eye-catching display ads. Experience with info-graphics and having a magazine mentality would help us push our newspapers in the right direction. You will also work to help us design other specialty and seasonal publications, which are published in a magazine format.
You will likely be working to help us update our websites using WordPress and maintaining those sites as well.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate to deliver creative layout and design while balancing traditional newspaper characteristics
- Create advertisements for newsprint
- Manipulate photos for best representation in newsprint
- Organize, resize and manipulate various graphic files
- Use software programs to output client-ready digital files
- Helping design and maintain the various websites
- Sense of humor and ability to make fun of yourself and be objective about your work
Qualifications
- A degree in graphic design, art, or related field
- Experience with magazine or newspaper layout a significant plus
- An impressive portfolio
- Fluency with the Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop
- Experience with some web design would be helpful
- WordPress experience a PLUS
- Able to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills
