The Wunderman Seattle office is currently looking for a Group Strategy Director to join the Strategy & Insights department, leading the Microsoft team. If you have account planning or strategy consulting experience, either in an agency or client, we’d like to talk with you.
Responsibilities: As Group Strategy Director you will oversee all strategic deliverables from the team of Microsoft Strategists reporting to you. You will also be lead Strategist on the most visible client campaigns, interacting with a variety of agency partners as well as internal teams. Specifically, you will oversee and develop relationship marketing (RM) programs for our Microsoft client – these will be primarily digital campaigns. You will also drive for deep audience insights that lead to creative inspiration, delivered in the form of creative briefs and inspiring briefings. In order to do so, you will guide the collection and synthesis of information into customer, competitive and business environment insights that are used to drive program and strategy recommendations. You will work closely with not only your direct reports, but leads from Account Management and Creative, as well as other discipline leads (e.g. Media, Data). You will also drive the team for emerging channel insights and expertise – especially Social and Mobile.
Specific Requirements:  BA/BS degree required; MBA or other advanced degree a plus. 15+ years’ experience in advertising, marketing, interactive, consulting, or related field—ideally with account planning specialization. Experience in either relationship/direct marketing; general advertising or digital (especially mobile and social). Prior Microsoft commercial or other B2B experience (agency or client). Experience in developing strategic frameworks for targeting, messaging and offers. Personal interest in and strong aptitude for understanding technology, willing to learn about technical details of clients’ products and services. Microsoft Office capability with Excel and PowerPoint skills.
