The Content team provides consulting and execution to solve business problems and enable the most effective communication with any audience. Writers, editors and content guerrillas work with account teams and clients to understand their stories and identify the best way to tell them. We share ideas and solutions to create engaging and authentic content that resonates in today’s media and consumer landscape. The copy editors deliver scalable levels of expert developmental and line editing of all types of content. We customize our level of service based on the needs of each client and content type, and maintain up-to-date client style guides and reference materials. Deeply integrated and proven processes ensure smooth, orderly and accurate handling of materials: Our high quality standards have resulted in an accuracy rate above 99 percent year after year. In addition, we offer global translation services as well as in-house Web quality assurance capabilities.

The Content Editor provides copy-editing and content creation support to the agency and its clients. Beyond its focus on copy-editing a wide variety of public and internal content, the role includes providing writing, brainstorming and content creation support and performing other duties as required on a growing, dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

• Copy-edits content of all types for a wide range of audiences, ensuring the highest standards of grammar, punctuation and usage; and upholding AP, house or other style and/or client preferences appropriate for each content type and audience

• Participates in appropriate writing projects

• Participates in digital communications and social media efforts such as blogs

• Regularly updates and helps hone team reference materials and style guides

• Quickly and accurately answers basic editing and language questions; advises account team members on rhetorical issues such as tone, organization, content, sense of audience and emphasis

• Evaluates content for legal issues, incorporates legal review and resolves legal issues with account

• Stays abreast of trends, innovations and rulings in editing, writing and industry subjects

• Participates in team projects and initiatives

• Promotes excellent relationships between the editing staff and the rest of the agency

• Provides on-call service after hours as required

• Follows agency business guidelines including utilization, daily timesheet entry, accurate billing and timely expense report submission

• Seeks continual professional development and improvement; uses employee education fund and actively shares what was learned

Requirements:

Qualifications

• B.S. or B.A. in English, Journalism, Communications or related field preferred

• Minimum two years professional experience copy-editing, rewriting and proofreading wide range of content types including highly technical formal documents and digital material such as Web copy

• Minimum two years experience working in a professional, fast-paced team environment

• Professional writing experience desired

• Digital communications and social media experience desired

• Track record of successful collaboration with design and development teams desired

• Fluency in another language a plus

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel)

• Proficiency with blog management tools, content management systems and Web publishing desired

• Knowledge of journalism, public relations, marketing communications, technology or related fields

• Ability to manage multiple significant projects simultaneously, shift priorities quickly and concentrate under stressful conditions

• Proven ability to uphold and update editorial and quality guidelines

• Must be able to work at least 45 hours per week, including some weekends and evenings

• Must be able to read, write and speak English

• Customer-service orientation is a must

• Must be able to quickly learn and use new tools and technologies

• Must be detail-oriented

• Must adapt easily to change

• Must be passionate, flexible, accountable, ambitious, ethical & have a point of view
