What: Urbanspoon is a leading online local restaurant guide that aggregates restaurant information and reviews from across the web, including professional food critics, bloggers, and diners. Available online or via one of its popular mobile applications on iPhone and Android, Urbanspoon provides reviews for restaurants throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. We are currently seeking a visionary leader to define the product strategy for one of the leading brands in the dynamic geo-local market on mobile (iPhone, Android and iPad) and the web. The Head of Product will lead the design and definition of all Urbanspoon products for consumers and businesses. The role requires solid product management and design experience with consumer websites, while experience with business applications would also be helpful.

Responsibilities: Deliver new products and functionality that contribute to our overall success. Develop and prioritize requirements and drive projects to completion. Think in terms of what customers and local businesses need and/or want – would like to see your thinking and examples as part of your cover letter when you apply. Be accountable for the user interaction model, workflows, information architecture, schematics, and interface guidelines. Leadership – build and manage a team (start with a team of 2 and grow it).

Requirements: College and/or advanced degree(s). 10 years experience in a consumer product management role with a strong history of design expertise. Consumer website experience is a must. Strong familiarity with Web design paradigms, technology, and trends. Strong analytical and empathetic ability. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Values strong visual design and pays fanatical attention to the details that make the difference between a mundane and a delightful user experience. Self-starter and accustomed to leading projects with little supervision.
