Join Jonathan Kumar, Founder of Samaritan & Cambia Grove’s 2019 TRAILS winner, for an informative and engaging conversation as he discusses how Samaritan is helping those who are experiencing homelessness get the financial and social support they need to reach their health and housing goals. By accessing health systems and human services, Samaritan provides hope to the hardest-to-serve populations while aiming to improve the population health throughout their communities.

BIO:

Jonathan Kumar, Founder & CEO, Samaritan

Jonathan’s professional background is in user experience and interface design, having specialized in the field and in research at the University of Michigan (BS, 2011). Jonathan is a serial entrepreneur, having successfully commercialized a business prior to Samaritan and funding / releasing several short films and a feature film in 2015. For Samaritan, Jonathan has raised $1M in seed capital for the social venture to perform predicate R&D in Seattle around helping homeless adults reach housing and health goals.

A son of immigrant parents, Jonathan oversees all aspects of the project including technology, research design, and partner development in multiple communities. Jonathan not only has deep experience in technology and design, but also in building productive relationships with stakeholders who are on the ground (such as case managers and homeless Samaritan Members) all the way up to the C-Suite (Hospital CFOs and Presidents). Samaritan was the 2019 Cambia Grove TRAILS competition winner which challenged health innovators to address clinician burnout.
