Fundamentals for Startups: Building a Compelling Investor Pitch

In this talk, Shirish Nadkarni will outline how to go about building a compelling investor pitch that significantly improves your chances of raising funding. He will first discuss how to go about researching which VCs you should target for your fund raise. He will then suggest a specific outline for your presentation that you can use to build your investor pitch and the key components that you should go into each slide. Finally, he will discuss some key dos & don’ts that you should follow to make sure that you nail your investor presentation.

Shirish Nadkarni

Shirish is a serial entrepreneur with proven success in creating multiple consumer businesses that have scaled to tens of millions of users worldwide. Shirish was the co-founder of Livemocha, the world’s largest language learning site with 15+ million registered members from over 200 countries. Livemocha was acquired by RosettaStone in 2013. Prior to Livemocha, Shirish was the founder of TeamOn Systems, a mobile wireless e-mail pioneer that was acquired by Research in Motion in 2002. Fundamentals for Startups is a weekly one-hour lecture series featuring notable experts who share startup-related information, experience, and insights with our entrepreneurial community. From raising capital to scaling to exit strategies, these seasoned guest speakers deliver valuable content designed to help startups and entrepreneurs thrive. Lectures are typically 30-40 mins, followed by open Q&A.
