Seahawks Still As Good As It Gets, Travelocity To Keeps Its Maiden Name, Adobe Slinging More Flash Player Mud

seahawksAfter watching this weekend’s Super Bowl panopticon, as unexpected in performance (in new star players and catches that the NFL could definitely define as a “catch”  even though it appeared to defy gravity ). It was absolutely surreal. Yet, I could not help asking the ultimate question:

After the big game has come and gone, who would you want to represent you in a contest of mortal combat? If real-world conflicts were fought on the football gridiron instead of barren villages or jungles?  Who would you want beside you?  If it was all on the line. U.S. vs. Aliens.

I’d want Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas,  Bobby Wagner, K.J. Wright, Steven Hauschka, Chris Matthews, the entire “O-Line” and “D-Line,”  and Special Teams representing our interests in battle, even if the other team wears the red white and blue on their helmets.  I think anyone who watched the game knew who was about to win, and who deserved to win when the ball rested on the one-yard-line with one-minute to go.

It’s hard to accept the cold splash of water, when the Seahawks have demonstrated, week after week, how miracles do happen at CenturyLink Field. Occasionally a random roll of the tumbling dice can produce an outcome that seemed impossible. The Seahawks have nothing more to prove. They have no reason to carry a chip on their shoulders. (And at least two shoulder surgeries are scheduled for the offseason).   The chips will fall where they may  Even in a champion-chip season finale.  Go Twelves! [24×7]

expediosityExpedia Adds Travelocity

As the Washington Post put it, “Last week, Expedia and Travelocity announced they were getting married after moving in together in 2013. Travelocity had essentially been operating as an Expedia affiliate, but it was still owned by parent company Sabre. (Expedia’s chief executive, Dara Khosrowshahi, said the marriage would allow his company to “continue to innovate and deliver the very best travel experiences to the widest set of travelers, all over the world.”

Not to worry, the gnome and Travelocity name will survive, both checking both sites to compare air fare3s would be like searching Yahoo right after you looked at Bing’s search results (Bing feeds the Yahoo Organic search results). Similarly, Expedia power the Travelocity Website so the datasets are the same.

“The average traveler probably won’t realize that when they book a deal on Travelocity now, they are actually booking through Expedia and that lots of the travel deals you see on Expedia and Travelocity will be the same or similar,” said Dennis Schaal the news editor for Skift, a Web site that covers the online travel industry as reported by the Post. malwarescreenAdobe Still Slinging Flash Player Mud

Adobe Systems has warned that hackers are exploiting another unpatched vulnerability n Flash Player — the third one in the past month — to infect computers with malware.

Reports revealed that the vulnerability is being actively exploited in download attacks that target systems running Flash Player under Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox on Windows 8.1 and below.

Adobe credits two security researcher from Microsoft, and one from Trend Micro, for reporting the flaw to the company.

Is it too much to ask that Adobe implement secure code versions that are tested before being releases and  infecting their loyal user bases whose patience is waning fast.

Adobe’s transition from missionary to mercenary could not be more palpable where this subject is concerned. Adobe software release practices are betraying a public trust that might soon be as irrecoverable as Adobe users lost data. [ 24×7]
