THE TECH SHOW Lights Up the Seattle Meetup with Smart Talk, Hot Gaming & Style That’s Cool

Fed up with meetups?  The average tech association, industry user group or special interest meeting can be a real snoozer.

So Korby Sears decided to give the meetup a wake up jolt.  Sears, with show host Sasha Pasulka, have remixed social networking meetings from the worlds of Gaming, Mobile, Social Media, App Development, BioTech, and Venture Capital, into one intoxicating, high energy cocktail called THE TECH SHOW.

The recipe for THE TECH SHOW sounds lip smacking:  Mix one-part TV Game show, one-part Talk show, and one-part Variety show entertainment. Add an erudite and effervescent host, Sasha Pasulka, a frequent commentator on CNN, CBC, The Washington Post, Gawker, and more. Top with “Rock Star” tech personalities from the local community and special correspondents delivering updates in Pecha Kucha style (20 slides, 5 minutes, 1 axe to grind). Wrap it all up in wall-to-wall animation (like Safeco Field-style “Logo Races”), and shake vigorously.

It’s Performance Art meets Conversation Pit, to be staged live in a pilot performance at Seattle’s Spitfire Grill the evening of January 16.  Sasha’s guests for the premiere performance will be Glenn Walcott, President of Double Down Interactive, Vanessa Fox, former Google Webmaster Central architect & ambassador and CEO of Nine by Blue, and Jenni Hogan, former KIRO personality and CEO of Jenni Hogan Media.

With only 150 seats to fill and no plans to release a live stream or video version after-the-fact, the room should be selling out fast. Find ticket into here.

“Founder and executive producer Korby Sears of Technosaurus Events is enthusiastic about the concept: “Our three main guests are always going to be well-known people at the top of their field. They are the backbone of the show. They will be on the couch with Sasha in a gamified version of what I would equate with “Realtime with Bill Maher,” having a conversation about recent news from the tech world.  To find out what they will be talking about there’s actually a game show buzzer which they will hit and that spins an animation on the screen that reveals the topic of conversation for the next three minutes.”

Like a variety show, the topics will be constantly reloading. This is one jukebox with an eclectic techno-mix.

“Usually you would not find Vanessa Fox, an SEO expert, Glenn Walcott a gaming developer and CEO and Jenni Hogan, a social media queen, on the same stage,” relates Sears.” Fox is going to be at an SEO conference, and Walcott at Casual Connect, for instance —  but we wanted to create that environment and gather different points-of-view. Throughout the show there will also be special segment guests who are either other tech experts or emerging talents.

This month Ramez Naan will be reading from his latest sci-fi novel titled “Nexus.”  Misty Weaver, a content strategist, will present “Information Architecture Trends in Africa.” and Gatherball CEO Paul Watts will present “My Undelivered Speech at the 2012 Geekwire Seattle 2.0 Start-Up Awards.”

THE TECH SHOW’s premier Logo Race will pit Roger, the SEOmoz Robot vs the Hipcricket Cricket vs. the Mail Chimp Chimpanzee!

If this isn’t “outside the box” thinking for high-tech, high-touch networking, we don’t know what is!  Watch for a more in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at THE TECH SHOW coming up in Seattle24x7 ShopTalk. [24×7]
