As the evening of February 24th approaches the WTIA staff is buzzing with excitement about the most grandiose event our association holds each year, the annual Industry Achievement Awards. In its 16th year this celebration has evolved over time, but the heart of it remains the same – to recognize and reward those companies and individuals propelling our industry to the next level.
Where Are They Now?
In the early, years the WTIA was honored to recognize such companies as Corbis and Visio. The likes of BSquare, F5 Networks, Impinj, Classmates.com, Concur, RealNetworks and Inrix have also made their marks on the history of both the WA technology industry and this IAA event. In more recent years Picnik, Amazon Web Services, Talyst, Ontela, and Pathway Medical Technologies have graced the stage and received the industry’s highest respects. Our association is constantly inspired by the organizations we serve, this event is our opportunity to commemorate their excellence and cultivate the strong technology community thriving in Washington State.
Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science
We are also proud to be highlighting our commitment to this region’s FUTURE technology innovators and the teachers driving the mission forward to produce a highly educated workforce. Scholarships will be awarded to three Technology Access Foundation Students who have excelled in the STEM focused TechStart Program. In addition, we will recognize four nominated teachers from Washington State in the National PAEMST Awards. The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching are the Nation’s highest honors for teachers of mathematics and science.
