Position: Sr. Network Engineer

What: We’re looking for a Sr. Engineer to join a team of Network and Security Engineers that are responsible for Nintendo of America’s LAN/WAN and Wireless networks. This person should be a great communicator – creating specifications, proposing designs for networks, and generally collaborating with others to engineer robust, reliable and secure network systems. This person hates to be called in the middle of the night, so they carefully consider redundancy and availability in their designs, and they understand the value of developing good monitoring and dashboards. This person is not afraid to take a stand and propose new processes or best practice, or to ask questions when something doesn’t work to their satisfaction.
You’ll be working with a team of dedicated System Engineers and working closely with other departments at Nintendo to address their Network and IT Security needs. In this role, you’ll be involved with and have an impact on some of Nintendo’s most ambitious projects.

Responsibilities:
Senior role, leading a team of System Engineers responsible for:
All network routing, switching infrastructure components both local and remote.
All network access devices (routers, switches, VPN concentrators, port aggregators, NAC appliances, TCP optimization, wireless controllers/APs, fiber channel switches, etc.)
Network Architectural design, managing current and future growth, ensuring High Availability and performance.
Oversees the administration and maintenance of the company’s network infrastructure, and provides technical guidance/direction to network engineers as needed.
Serves as main point of contact and manages network/security related incidents and problems.
Builds and maintains relationships with vendors to include contract negotiations and establishment of service agreements.
Leads networking efforts for JSOX, PCI and risk assessments and mitigation.
Design & maintain Network/Security related disaster recovery plans, scripts, and testing.
Oversees the administration of the company’s WAN.
Works with project teams to help implement new systems and applications.

Requirements:
Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of related experience in various network development technologies patterns and practices.
Wide-ranging experience, including proven experience leading work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Understanding of networking topologies and protocols.
Ability to read packet traces to identify source of problems
Understanding of WAN optimization technologies including compression, acceleration, and protocol optimization desired. Experience with Integration with application based optimizations desired.
Demonstrated expertise with Ethernet LAN technologies with a focus on Cisco technologies for Layer 2 redundancy and re-convergence.
Experience with Network Access Control and other perimeter security technologies desired.
Advanced knowledge of Cisco IOS/Nexus OS
Advanced knowledge of wireless technologies 802.11a/b/g/n
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Post-graduate coursework desirable and at times required.
CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE
Demonstrates proficiency with Network Engineer Scope
Demonstrates exceptional judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively present information across levels
Results orientation
Ability to appropriately prioritize work
Ability to work in a fast-paced, confidential environment
Ability to lead projects and mentor less experienced engineers
