Position: Website Graphic Designer

What: The primary responsibility for the Website Graphic Designer is to work closely with the Website Creative and Content Manager to design content that tells a creative, imaginative, consistent and seamless story about McLendon Hardware that brings our brand to life online and positions McLendon Hardware stores as a regional “uniquely Northwest” destination. Understanding of visual design principles and a desire to push conceptual thinking and the latest design and technology trends will be critical in creating experiences that connect with our current and future customers, our Team Members and our community. This position works under minimal supervision and must work closely with the Purchasing Department, Advertising Department, Vendors, Information Technology Department, and other Team Members.

Responsibility:

Builds inspired website content that meets the needs of our customer and achieves the goals of our business.
Works with visual design style guide to ensure continuity of site design across all consumer touch points.
Designs on-site assets including home pages, landing pages, category banners, etc.
Designs off-site assets including emails, remarketing ads, etc.
Designs web editorial content including buying guides, how to guides, enhanced product information, etc.
Partners with the Website Creative and Content Manager to ensure usability standards are met.
Partners with the Copywriter to produce brand right copy voice and maximization of SEO effectiveness.
Touches up product images as needed.

Requirements:

  • 2 year degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Website Design or equivalent work experience.
  • Passion for delivering excellent online customer experiences that yield legendary customer service.
  • 2+ years of experience creating content for large scale transactional ecommerce environments.
  • Exposure to website usability and information architecture concepts.
  • Experience with website design related platforms, applications, and technologies.
  • Experience creating content for responsive websites.
  • Proficiency in HTML and Adobe Creative Suite, and exposure to JavaScript and CSS.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
  • Must have expert computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must have the ability to read and write English.
  • Must possess expert organizational skills and the ability to produce high output without wasted effort.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, organized, comfortable working in a fast paced environment and able to multi-task efficiently.
  • Must possess excellent problem solving skills.
