Position: Senior Web Developer

Where: Seattle

Responsibilities :
Assess, research and recommend improvements for KCTS’ digital platform and online properties
Project-manage and execute requirements to transition the existing website to a new cross-browser/cross-device design and functionality
Develop robust Drupal templates, assess and install new Drupal modules as needed, manage new web/application projects and interactive content. Support content team with publishing systems improvements and digital asset management technologies
Perform back-end maintenance for web properties, including regular site backups and CMS and module updates as necessary
Monitor websites and back-end systems for technical and other issues; knowledge of AWS preferred Troubleshoot and apply fixes for technical issues
Create and maintain documentation for job tasks and system updates
Collaborate with KCTS 9 staff to develop multimedia features and capabilities
Collaborate with the social media team to support and integrate interactive and social media technologies with the website
Collaborate with stakeholders to implement and support interactive and social media technologies
Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize and support online revenue generating capabilities
Work with outside partners, vendors and PBS Staff
Respond to technical questions from staff

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or related area, or equivalent experience required
Seven years’ experience in Web development required
Three years’ experience managing and maintaining a CMS
Proven experience developing and maintaining multiple, large-scale websites required
Strong web and graphic design/multimedia integration skills required
Basic understanding of web video formats and online media technologies; knowledge of web video players and online video platforms preferred
Must be able to communicate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical staff
Must have working experience and technical competency with:
AWS
Drupal (CMS, development/theming, optimization)
XHTML, CSS, XML
JavaScript/DOM/AJAX, JQuery
PHP, MySQL (programming, database development)
SSH
Search Engine Optimization
Adobe Creative Suite
Online video distribution
Developing and testing for multiple browsers
Integration of social media tools and platforms
Salesforce integration experience strongly preferred
Must have working knowledge of:
Shell, ASP, SQL, Ruby on Rails, Google API, Google Ad Manager, Doubleclick for Publishers, Google Analytics, Avid, Online Payment Gateways (PayPal), PCI compliance standards as they relate to online development and maintenance, iPhone SDK, Windows, Linux (Debian and RedHat) and Macintosh OS, Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with website and database performance optimization required
Experience with developing secure sites required
Experience with the following technologies and concepts is preferred:
SharePoint, .NET, E-Commerce, ProTrack, email systems
