Position: Consulting Software Engineer

Where: Seattle

What: The Consulting Software Engineer will work with both DatStat and customer personnel in the design and implementation of DatStat’s custom solutions based on DatStat’s award winning survey and study management platform. Their new platform will have you working with cutting edge web and cloud technologies, and you will play a key role as DatStat revolutionizes online research. You will work with these technologies as you craft solutions that leverage DatStat’s products to solve real world customer challenges. This position requires healthy doses of initiative, organization, communication, and flexibility in a very dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:
▪ Working closely with DatStat customers and services consulting personnel, conceptualize, design, and document (requirements and specifications) custom solutions based on DatStat’s SDK and API.
▪ Implement custom solutions using industry standard best practices.
▪ Communicate with both internal and external stakeholders on project progress.
▪ Collaborate with outside vendors when custom project scale requires outside involvement.

Required Knowledge/Experience:
▪ BS in Computer Science (or equivalent degree / experience)
▪ At least 2 years professional web applications development experience
▪ Experience working directly with customers, in a software development project context (through consultancy, etc.) a plus.
▪ Strong problem solving skills and a passion for learning new things
▪ Exposure to object oriented development technologies, including: Java, C#, etc.
▪ Exposure to industry standard web technologies, including: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, JSON, etc.
▪ Knowledge of emerging technologies, including: HTML5, CSS3, etc.
▪ Exposure to database design and querying (SQL)
▪ Custom application project leadership background is a plus.
▪ A customer oriented focus, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
▪ Attention to detail and a feeling of pride and ownership over work quality.
▪ The ability to advocate for best practices, great usability and exceptional quality.
▪ Great organizational skills and a strong feel for process.
