What:  City University of Seattle is seeking candidates for our Director of Marketing. We are a private, nonprofit institution of higher education and have been in the Seattle area for nearly 40 years. The Director of Marketing will play a critical role in developing strategic marketing solutions designed to increase awareness and enrollment and to maintain financial strength. The ideal candidate will have prior marketing experience with a small marketing team or small to mid-size creative agency. This candidate will have some experience with search engine optimization, pay per click, running an online campaign, managing vendors and vendor contracts. Experience in handling job processing and managing the day-to-day work flow of a team, including supervising creative people will be important. Responsibilities:

The Director is responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing an overall market strategy, including:
• market development
• market research and planning
• strategic direction for promotions and advertising
• coordination with academic and administrative departments
• hiring and directing the day-to-day activities of a staff of 4

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred)
• At least 5 years of experience in institutional marketing, communications, advertising and policy development
• Prior marketing experience with small marketing team and/or creative agency, and experience facilitating/managing vendors and/or contractors preferred
• Prior hands on experience with search engine optimization.
• A thorough understanding of current technological tools used in enrollment management and experience in using these in an educational setting is desirable.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills are essential.
• Experience in marketing of higher education or experience in a related industry a plus.

Location:
This position will be located in Bellevue, WA throughout 2012 and will be relocated to Seattle, WA in January of 2013. We welcome interest from outside the Seattle area; regretfully, there are no relocation funds for this position.
