Avalara is the leading provider of web-hosted sales tax management services. With significant market opportunity and aggressive growth objectives, Avalara’s Marketing Managers are tasked with planning and executing marketing programs to achieve aggressive partner and customer acquisition goals and reporting on those programs to directly correlate with company revenue objectives.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan, execute and report on direct marketing programs focused on lead-generation and lead-nurturing activities using in-house and external lists as well as advertising programs in industry trade publications.
2. Define, plan and execute marketing programs including traditional and online events that incorporate push and pull tactics (tradeshows, industry seminars and conferences, e-mail and web campaigns, webinars, company events, etc.)
3. Ensure a closed loop lead management process with all marketing initiatives, working closely with sales on lead conversion through nurture strategies and ROI reporting.
4. Write, edit/update and publish content to the Avalara.com website, newsletters, and other outlets.
5. Work with partners (OEM and VAR) to develop and deploy “through partner” marketing campaigns.
6. Deliver timely marketing and event plans that include success metrics and reports.
7. Understand and demonstrate experience using social media platforms and developing tactics and content that support defined marketing program and/or campaign.
8. Build extensive knowledge in assigned product/solution areas and develop competitive analysis expertise with industry, product, partners and competitors.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
1. Bachelors degree in business with marketing emphasis, communications or a related field
2. Minimum of three years strategic marketing experience
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
4. Excellent grasp of marketing, product management, and sales concepts
5. Ability to think and plan strategically
6. Excellent time management skills
7. Experienced user of CRM automation tool (i.e. SalesForce) and marketing platform (i.e. Eloqua)
8. Ability to focus and maintain composure while managing multiple priorities
9. Ability to work well independently and productively as well as collaboratively within a team
10. Ability to manage multiple projects and complete tasks, timelines and goals
11. Working knowledge of computer basics including MS Office, and the ability to develop computerized presentations and utilize spreadsheets, word processing, and the internet.
12. Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
13. Assumes responsibility and accountability for assignments, task and commitments
