The TeenTech Washington Techathon is a 14-hour civic hackathon open to grades 6-12.
The goal of the Techathon is to engage students in civic problem solving through the use of modern technology. The Techathon provides an opportunity for innovative youths to work in teams to create tech solutions for real-world problems.
We call it a Techathon, because it is open to any use of modern technology you can imagine. This could be programming, circuitry, 3D modeling, photo editing, or anything else. You do not need to know how to code and we encourage the participation of first-time hackers.
Mentors will be on-hand to assist participants with their projects. Projects will be judged on social impact, feasibility, and how well they make use of technology — not how technically complicated they are.
